TEAMYAKIMA
Hello everyone - OK this is not an actual exhibition, but we have a large clubroom and associated buildings on site and so we are able to put on quite a show every year and this year is no exception! We will have layouts in N, OO and O - and hopefully TT! There will be demos and a s/h stand. Full details here ... www.tdmrc.org.uk This is our club's BIG event of the year - please come down to see us! TEAMYAKIMA
Pride of place at our Open Day will be our 7mm layout ADDISON ROAD - built as it was in 1925, it is better known today as Kensington Olympia. Although theoretically set in 1925 sometimes Rule 1 applies!

TEAMYAKIMA
Whilst ADDISON ROAD is (supposedly) a serious 'fine-scale' layout, the group is open to anyone - even King George V Joking apart, you can see this on our second hand sales stand at our Open Day! TEAMYAKIMA
TT layout confirmed! It was built to represent a typical 'kitchen table' layout as was common in 1961 which is the year Twickenham & District MRC was formed. The layout was originally built for our 50th Anniversary Exhibition in 2011 to show how layouts have moved on since 1961. It gets the occasional outing and it will be running at our open day to add some variety. Everything you can see in this picture is permanently glued in place with the exception of the two trains running around and the vintage tea cup and kit-kat. Yes that's right EVERYTHING is superglued to the baseboard just as you see it. That's how it literally takes 5 minutes to set up at a show!
TEAMYAKIMA
Another featured layout will be Twickenham MRC's new current era D&E layout - EASTGATE. Twickenham club is very PRO D&E and wants to promote and nurture D&E modelling. But it's a chicken and egg situation - we need to attract D&E modellers in order to build the large ambitious D&E layout we would like to have. So we've started small to show our commitment to D&E modelling and it has begun to attract more D&E modellers to the club so that hopefully the next D&E layout will be bigger. If YOU are a D&E modeller why not come to our Open day on July 13th and bring along some of your models to run on Eastgate - DC only at present - we're a very friendly lot! Here is a photo of Eastgate under construction - come and see what it looks like now this Saturday!

TEAMYAKIMA
Lets not forget N gauge! For our Open Day this Saturday we will be showing MILTON and here is a recent photo …………………….
TEAMYAKIMA
The last time we posted about our OO layout NORTHWICK they were undertaking some serious new tracklaying to improve operation.... They are currently re-wiring and will have a couple of boards up at our open day - they're a friendly bunch, so come on down and have a chat with them. TEAMYAKIMA
Another feature at this year's Open Day is our s/h stand. Members and wellwishers have donated huge amounts of model railway 'stuff' which our sales team have been cleaning and sorting. If you're coming along and have some spare old 'stuff' you want rid of to a good home, then please feel free to bring it along
TEAMYAKIMA
Less than 24 hours to go now!
