Wiring Tillig dual-gauge track

Recommended Posts

Apologies for a basic question, but I can't find an answer online!

If using DC and dual gauge track (e.g. Tillig HO/HOe) how does one wire the tracks? In single gauge of course it's one wire to each rail, but with mixed gauge where one rail is common and other two are not shared, where do the wires go?

Thanks!

Sorry to appear dense, but how can one wire go to two different rails? Would you connect the one wire to one of the non-common rails then add a separate wire to link the other rail?

That will do it.

But if the track layout is going to have any complexity you may want to have switched isolating sections in different locations on the two track gauges. In which case better to wire independently direct from switches to the rail sections.
