It doesn't.

That's on a different forum!

No doubt something to do with the L&NER.

I still don't get any of this.

I've tried the clever pills, but they just made me want to drink apple juice.

I've never knowingly done any nudging in my life, nor have my friends. None of us have ever been accused by the Police of Criminal Nudging with Intent to Nudge, either.

I hope it never spreads to Horrocksford.

But then again, who does?

Nobody.

There, you wanted someone to say it, didn't you?

We didn't. Did you want us to? Or is this an attempt to discredit nudgers without understanding what it  is that they stand for?

I have never understood the perceived advantage(s) of a straight cucumber.

(Actually, saying that in a clipped BBC 1968 announcer voice is good enough on its own)

i slice or dice or create batons from my cucumbers, none of which require the fruit to have a particular geometric form.  It’ll be a sad day when cucumbers are sliced or diced or machined into batons by automata...

I don't like cucumbers, nasty things.

They are up there on the prohibited list just below nudgers.

That appears to be an extreme case of nudger's droop.

I think, sir, that you'll find that it is Grocer's Droop. Nudger's Droop would have seen a much more --- er --- nudged effect.

Ah! A classic faux pas. The confusing of fly shunting with fly swatting,  symptomatic of over nudging.

Now I'm confused.

A swat isn't a shunt but a shunt is an overnudge?

Isn't a swat a basic form of extreme shunt?*

Did I miss a page?

Andy

*Extreme shunting should only be carried out by trained professionals and certainly should not be attempted at home unsupervised.

edit for nudging the wrong letter in, nudging one out and a punctuation nudge too. Almost the full set.

I must say that the use of an implement, such as a cucumber as illustrated by Mikkel, does seem especially 'continental', although I suppose it does avoid the necessity of washing one's hands, post-nudge.

I stand corrected. The clue was in plain sight all along.

As an aside, I note that nobody appears to have mentioned poking..........until now, that is.

I remember an article many years ago about growing square tomatoes to make them easier to use on sandwiches. Never caught on fortunately.

But that would at least be useful, even if unnecessary.

now, if the tube in which the cucumber were to be grown straight could also make it square, or better, rectangular ( With perhaps a 3:1 aspect ratio)  in cross section...

Or better, with a little genetic engineering, a device that allows vegetables & fruit to be grown as extrusions, such that you can simply slice off as much as you need, and the rest stays on the plant...
