We are still on page 13. This is a bit of a worry.

I've obviously not been out enough recently but seeing as I am photoing a layout with overheads at the weekend I should be adorned with 'May contain mild peril' warning stickers.

You have only missed the things you didn't see. Everything else is still the same.

That's very gratifying to know.

Is there an Executive Summary for the bits I haven't seen yet, please?

Yes, but I haven't seen it lately.  It must be around somewhere, because I was showing it to somebody just the other day. I think.

It's not.

It's just back to front and inside out and written in Higher Executive Gobbledeegook, otherwise, as you would expect.

As a change of topic (more like a thread shipwreck than a thread drift), I've been reading about someone who uses a Tortoise to change his points. Well, we've got two of them and they're hibernating at the moment, but I thought I'd consider using one of them to change my points next month when they come out of the fridge.

A question has come to mind, though, what sort of currant do they like? Direct, as from an already opened packet, or alternating, as in one seeded and one not, one seeded and one not? I can't find any reference to that, for some reason.

Oh where, oh where indeed.

They saw the tortoise fast asleep,

And thought there was a need,

For better ways of changing points,

Employing greater speed.

They shut the tortoise up, you see,

And took their canopy,

To keep the rain at bay, I hear,

And nudged off far and wide.

Never to be seen again.

I haven't read anywhere about the actions the Government are asking us to take with Canopy Nudging during the present pandemic.

Can Dr.Bonwick - or any other specialist expert - advise us, please, on this important matter?  (AM)

I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest that the Government has taken any interest in this topic. It's almost as if they have too much other stuff to be getting on with.

What I suggest is, therefore, you take the following into consideration:

  1. Be certain that any canopy that is within 6 feet (NOT 2 metres!) of your touching appendages has not been nudged by anybody else for at least 14 days.
  2. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your canopy, spending at least 20 seconds rubbing them together to the tune of, "Happy Nudgeday to You". If you can't remember the words, just hum the tune.
  3. Repeat point 2. above after you've touched, as well. Probably best to do it twice, actually.
  4. Avoid touching other people's canopies. They might have already nudged them and not admit to it.
  5. Don't take any notice of the News, but keep a careful eye on the social media experts who know all about this type of problem.
  6. If any of this post offends you, you're probably reading the wrong topic.

Excellent advice there from our resident expert. His knowledge on the subject goes back many years so please pay particular attention to his comments and follow them strictly.

But if I might add that it might be prudent to wash your canopies daily with soap and water leaving them to air dry ready for any future contact. You can always dry them by dabbing them with toilet paper as it is so absorbent, which incidentally might explain why it is in short supply!!!

Thank you for that most useful information in these most difficult times.

6 feet clearance is mentioned - is that 24mm clearance in 4mm gauge and 42mm in 0 gauge?  (AM)
