Salt Lake City Trainshow 2019

Being a registered guest to the NMRA Convention in Salt Lake City this year, we get early entrance to the Trainshow on the Friday at 09.00 before the General public are allowed in at midday.

Apart from various manufacturers stands including a small Hornby one us a healthy trade to purchase models decoders and the like , there are some very large modular set ups. I would say not do many as previous Trainshows that we have attended before but the N scale modular setup is apparently the largest in the world and its certainly the largest we have seen. The standards of each module vary but generally most were very with a few incomplete ones. I will post batches on here then the HO module that we liked. Not many individual layous so it is a bit different to UK shows.20190712_113923.jpg.38f2e93a27bf82e6ee6f2384353a7cd2.jpg

Here are some pictures of a miniature TT scale switching layout in a guitar case. This layout is about 36 inches(91.44 centimeters) long and about 18 inches(45.72 centimeters) at its widest point. The person that created this layout is originally from Romania but has lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for about 20 years. This is the only small switching layout that I saw at the show! WHY?!?

Thanks Wendell :) I suspect most ‘small layouts’ there were modules incorporated into the bigger ones.

Paul, very true especially with the T-Track modules. I am not a fan of the Timesaver layout, but I am surprised that I didn't see any of those kind of layouts at this show.

Here's a picture of the Jupiter(Central Pacific) and 119(Union Pacific) locomotives that LGB is selling to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike. The locomotives are in G scale.
