I saw your hotel for the night on Facebook, hope you weren't wandering round in the night looking for the en-suite.

Yes, Kim thought we should go away - in the garden - as it was Easter. The facilities were primitive but the breakfast was good!

As featured in April's Railway Modeller to coincide with the York Show - we present Leysdown, a portrayal of the Sheppey Light Railway terminus in P4.

And we are open, crowds surging in,  The first bus load off the 197 have just walked up Racecourse Road. Bacon rolls selling fast in the catering outlet out at the front.

just a shame it is all a dream this year.

As this would have been Day 1 of the public section of the show weekend a quick repeat - Sadly we are closed over the B Hol weekend this year. Back in 2021.  Stay safe, don't travel. If you would have attended and bought goods why not order from one of our traders anyway - see https://yorkshow.org.uk/traders/

For me, I will be spending the weekend working on my shunting plank, point motors put in place a day or so back now, next step is to wire them in.

Also probably my first show missed as visitor, exhibitor or member of the show team since the Easter of 1973. Can't currently think of any reason why I have missed one since moving to York in summer 1972 as have been back every year since our move to Dorset. Weird times.

The last few, as always, straggling out. Steps stools all back and accounted for.  Programme sales have been good. As for lost property, all so far reunited with the owners.

Doors now shut to end public day one.

So how many did we get through the door?

Has Mal finished his coffee yet as we are going out this evening.

Well I can dream can't I? Been digging the garden, cutting the grass, And other odd jobs. Must do some modelling at some time but the weather is too nice to be stuck inside. Tried to work out how many York Shows I've been involved with. Must be about 20. Can anybody remember?

Hope everyone gets parked Ok today for the virtual show’s second day despite the clash with the Park Run. Bacon butties from the restaurant seems a good way to start the day.

Reminder - we are closed. Stay home, stay safe.
