Possible Phishing email purporting to be from Hattons

I have just received an email from “payments@hattons.co.uk” stating that my credit card for a pre-order had expired and asking me to click on a link to re-set my password to access their website.  Once I have done this the email said that I should email, the above email address or phone the Hattons number to update my card details.

The thing is that the credit card expiry was stated by the email to be 2016 - three years ago.  I am always wary of emails like this and so have not clicked on the link etc.

I have logged in to the Hattons website via Google and can find no trace of the order referred to in the email.

Just in case anyone else receives a similar email.

Just received a legitimate email from Hattons.  The original email was genuine but was sent out in error.

So no need for concern re hacking or phishing.
