SteelAndSoot
did my best to fix these three failed 3d prints, they aren't the best looking but they run well and they will be my main coaching stock until I can afford to buy some more peco wagons and coaches now to finish my slate wagons
SteelAndSoot
I also sat down for a couple hours to make a start on finishing the engine shedI am making progress on the roof of the slate shed but I was unhappy with the wooden carriage shed so I am redoing the roof

I've seen way worse. Also I'd give that Fletcher Jennings a slightly thicker chimney tbh. The drafting with one that thin is probably terrible. 14 hours ago, SteelAndSoot said: I also sat down for a couple hours to make a start on finishing the engine shedI am making progress on the roof of the slate shed but I was unhappy with the wooden carriage shed so I am redoing the roof Is that lean-to made of lolly sticks? Neat, nice work! Also loving that 0-6-0ST.

I was going to tackle the jennings at some stage soon, just working myself up to start cutting And yes, they are lolly sticks and matches that I had laying around
SteelAndSoot
I have had a scroll back through this thread to see how I have progressed and I have been laughing the whole way as this thread acts as a perfect capsule of my progressing maturity especially in the way I talk speaking of maturity whenever I get a bit overwhelmed by modelling I like to take a couple steps back and work on toys. either to give to people or to put on my shelves I think it might be worthwhile sharing some of the things I've made
SteelAndSoot
about six months ago whilst I was at a small event I stumbled upon these little things called Ertl Minis (roughly T scale in size). I thought they where just the cutest and I had to get them as they where $5 NZD each. as it turns out when I did some further research they are pricey so I decided "what the hell, lets make some of my own" ...... Things may have.... escalated they amongst many of my 3d printable designs can be downloaded here https://www.thingiverse.com/steelandsoot/designs
SteelAndSoot
as is kinda obvious I made a small layout for them to sit on with aid from my little helpers

SteelAndSoot
I have also made a fair amount of progress on my 009 layout although I will wait to add more stuff before giving another progress report in the mean time one of my favourite things is the station which I have repainted and given an interior

SteelAndSoot
A selection of my favourite pics I took of the layout the other day I couldn't resist a shot of Rheneas A pic I rather liked of the cottage overlooking the line Despite how simple these two are I just love them The engine shed in its current state. All I have really done to it is paint the interior and strengthen the roof
SteelAndSoot
did some more work on the engine recently dubbed by my mates as "Pride Of Wales" now got buffers, couplings, steps, handrails and door handle Still needs nameplates, very light weathering and a clean
SteelAndSoot
just finished a tiny lil 1:76 8 inch loco His name is Toby and he is a lil tic tac
relaxinghobby
The loco is just about 1 cm long measured by the ruler, how did you make it ? Was it 3D printed and how did you paint the tiny thing ?

Was it 3D printed and how did you paint the tiny thing ? it was an ornament from an old pewter thingy I got for christmas (no clue why) so I cut it off, cleaned it and of course painted it the way I painted it is through sheer luck, extreme amounts of magic and wooden barbecue skewers
SteelAndSoot
One of the rustons will become the counterpart for Pride of Wales, being painted in a couple of the other flags And Pride of Wales with one of the first of many coaches I am printing (currently held together with blu tack) You can imagine what I am going to do immediately after finishing said coaches Tiny Boi Edited February 10, 2021 by SteelAndSoot
SteelAndSoot
it would seem that I may have scuffed the scaling on the 009 Ruston I will rescale it before putting it up for download on Thingiverse However I am definetly keeping these three tiny rustons. the other two will likely become cabless but I find them way to amusing to just bin
