MSWJ
The unlikely setting of Droitwich Spa around 01.45 today saw two trains passing which are a reminder that traditional traffic flows just about cling on. One was a Cwmbargoed Opencast Colliery to BSC Scunthorpe coal train passing a North Blyth to Margan Steelworks coal train. Coal from the North East to South Wales steelworks and South Wales coal to Midlands steelworks, all time honoured rail traffic but for how much longer? Btw I wasn't there to observe them, it's info from Reaitime Trains. 1 1
RMweb Gold C126 Posted July 25, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2019 I confess notices like this make me sentimental, and without wishing to be flippant, I wish we could afford a Rayburn (and there be one that could be turned off on days like to-day) in our home, and do our bit to support the nearest coal-yard. My parents took out their Parkray last year, and I miss it when visiting in the winter. Thankfully, I never had to live near a Phurnacite manufacturing plant... Sorry for going off-topic.
