Thinning Johnsons KLEAR

Hi Ken,

You are correct - Original Klear does thicken with age.

I've tried water and I've tried acrylic thinners and I've tried Windolene.

All work to a certain extent but Windolene seems to give the best results.

From memory I mixed it at 2 parts Klear to 1 part Windolene.

Can you still buy this, I've seen it on Ebay but its expensive for the original formula, there is a product marketed by Pledge, but I guess this is not the same?

Hi Steve,

You are correct - they are not the same.

The new Klear is supposed to have the same properties as the old Klear.

I find this is not correct - it behaves differently.

Apparently the new Klear is a UK only product and you can buy the old Klear in Europe for as little as £2.00 per bottle.

I am on my last bottle of the old stuff.

Thanks

Phil H
