Tender Locos

GWR

4000 Star - specials: Royal train, Pullman service (even if GWR considered their own carriage quite luxurious enough, thank you very much...)

4002%20Evening%20Star%20Exeter%201910%20

4002 Evening Star at Exeter, 1910 - part of the first batch, 1907

4011%20Knight%20of%20the%20Garter%20Chur

4011 Knight of the Garter, part of 1908's second 'Knight' production run...4014 Knight of the Bath would be an obvious choice.

2900 Saint - named express

It would be nice to have a prototype, 4-4-2 and 4-6-0 as it describes the development of these locos (and really of British locomotive development) in shorthand:

100%20William%20Dean%20Swindon%20June%20

Photographed in 1902, she would remain numbered 100 for my proposed time period. Heaps angular - looks like a trial run!

190 was the last of the initial 'Scott' series. All were converted to 4-6-0 by 1913, but could very reasonably be 4-4-2s - she'd be a nice one to have on semi-fasts.

2915%20Saint%20Bartholomew%20up%20Torqua

From the third 'Saint' batch comes 2915 Saint Bartholomew, captured on a Torquay up near Hayes about 1910. This is nicely representative of what I'm aiming for on the Devon layout, and I'd really appreciate any information about train formation.

Tank locos

GWR

...I'm not brave enough to tackle this just yet! TLDR for when there's something to read: Many saddle tanks, some side tanks, and a very very few panniers. (1490 is a given - the GW's first pannier and one-time Bath station pilot. Others will have to earn their place on an individual basis. They just scream '30s BLT and I'm ticking off enough clichés as it is!).
