ianmacc
Ok not sure what they’re actually called but has anyone noticed the small bucket-sized yellow pots that dispense oil onto the outer rails of sharp curves to reduce friction and rail wear by depression of plungers from the rolling stock wheels? Having a go at replicating them using a pen top and length of wire. If you’re using set track radius curves on your layout these are essential scenic additions! I haven’t weathered them or done final fit but I think I’m on the right lines. Totally free too! Trog
Lubricators, traditionally first located at the 5mm point on the rising transition, if that does not give a thin film of grease right round the curve the lubricator can be moved a bit to see if that works better. Or for a long curve a second one could be installed part way round the curve.
