009 micro modeller
This all looks very good. I particularly like the paving, and considering it’s 00 gauge you’ve fitted an impressive amount in the space.
RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted August 12, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 12, 2019 Hi today I have been busy building the yard crane for my layout. Painting and weathering the crane has been completed and is secured in place. I have painted up some oil drums and weathered them and are in place on my layout. More to do by adding a couple of wall lamps, a lorry and some yard workmen.
RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted August 14, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 14, 2019 Hi today I have been putting some finishing touches to my layout. The lorry has been slightly weathered and added to the layout and a pallet of cement has been lifted onto the lorry. The class 03 diesel has made an appearance. I still need a goods wagon, the sleepers have been fitted instead of buffer stops just the chains to add. And last I’m waiting delivery of a couple of wall mounted yard lamps. So all in all about 90% completed. 5
Marly51
Wow - almost finished, Kevin! Great to see a shunter on your diorama and the lorry is perfect!

The lorry came in the post this morning so it needed some weathering before going onto the layout. I hope the two lamps arrive tomorrow so these can also be added. My wagon will need to wait for payday.
009 micro modeller
It looks good and makes a good environment for the 03. Do you know whether the sidings will be long enough to do some shunting?

Sounds good, although I was more concerned about the siding lengths on the scenic section. Can I also ask what you used for ballast? It seems an interesting change from what you usually see used and I think something similar might look good on one of my industrial layouts in the future. RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted August 15, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 15, 2019 Hi 009 micro modeller, the scenic section should hold a small wagon. The ballast I used was woodland scenic coarse dark brown. I have used this as I have seen a couple of areas use this type of ballast.
