Guest Jack Benson
Shillingstone Wickham shelter Interior of shelter A few images of the Wickham trolley shelter at Shillingstone, the device inside the shelter is definitely not a Wickham as we know it, what is it? RailWest
I wonder where "just north of Stur" actually was? Four tracks, open landscape in the background. Possibly north end of Stalbridge yard?
Guest Jack Benson
The device could be the rear of an Allen Scythe, a heavy duty grass cutter. Rear of Allen Scythe Allen Scythe in use The narrow track of the main wheels are distinctive. JB Edited August 14, 2019 by Jack Benson

Possibly a Allen scythe would be more appropriate as none of the two images, in our possession, of Wickham units in use on the SDJR are anything like the large Bachmann version. Guest Jack Benson
A update, In Sabotaged and Defeated part two page 52, there is a photo of a typical (Bachmann style) Wickham B29W trolley in the centre road of Evercreech Junction in autumn '67 after the WR takeover- dark red (faded) livery. Justification for spending on a Wickham has been identified, have fun. Jb Edited August 21, 2019 by Jack Benson Rampant stupidity
