Assistance with wagon completion

I have a number (20+) of wagons that are either painted or unpainted.

I am looking for some help in finishing off these wagons with either painting  and/or putting the transfers on.

Transfers would be supplied, mostly LBSCR

I am no unable to do it myself due to age (87) and Parkinson's Disease

Is there anyone who has any free time to help with this

All expenses would be covered.

Location West Sussex/Hampshire border

Many thanks for reading this

Michael

Hello Michael,

I am currently unemployed (and have lots of free time as a result) and my husband and I would be thrilled to paint and decal some wagons for you if you'd like. We do live in the Netherlands, so they'd have to be sent to us by post, but we'd be very happy to help.

If you're curious I have a few photos of wagons Ive done in this thread here:

All the best,

Amanda and Mark

Hello Amanda & Mark

Very kind of you to respond to my request.

What are you doing in the Netherlands and where are you located?

My wife is Dutch from Scheveningen

I have looked at your thread about wagons and the goods shed, very impressive!

I think that we need to establish what expenses I would incur if

we  could agree that you could help me.

I would supply photos for each wagon, and some would only need a logo and a number on each side

Others would require perhaps painting and lettering.

What about 4 & 6 wheel coaches.?

Are all the required colours of paint available in Holland?

Do you spray or hand paint your stock?

Posting small parcels to Holland is not a problem, but factoring in the cost of postage might make the whole idea impracticable

Perhaps if you would prefer, you can e-mail me direct at michaeldJs90@gmail.com

Sorry about all the questions

Best regards

Michael

Hello Michael,

I am American, and moved to the Netherlands 5 years ago to be with my husband, who is Dutch. We live in South Limburg, so quite a ways from Scheveningen! My husband is originally from Groningen.

I'm not looking to get paid or profit from this at all. I have time and skills available. If you provide the decals and parts, we'd be happy to build and decorate them for you. Logos and numbers are very easy, and I'm happy to use pressfix transfers or waterslide decals, whichever you've got work for me. We can do coaches or freight stock. Either are ok by me.

I tend to use Vallejo Model Air acrylics, though I have also used Humbrol enamels when required, though they're definitely more work to use. If you want me to use specific paints from Railmatch, for instance, they would need to be sent; annoyingly I cannot get them from Holland.

I can paint with an airbrush (Badger 150 plus a massive compressor primarily) or with brush. I tend to use my airbrush when possible, though brush painting freight wagons is often a better finish, I think.

I have also emailed you this same response. Whichever you prefer works for me!

All the best,

Amanda
