Hi all

A new series starts on Channel 5 (UK) at 2000 on Friday 30th August.

It's called "The World's Most Luxurious Train"

It's a 6 part series starting with the Blue Train in South Africa.

How much will feature the train and how much the foibles of the guests is anyone's guess.

Edit: Further info suggests it looks like each episode will be a different type of "Luxury"

Some programme makers / producers / TV channel companies will add S01E01 even if there's only one episode.

I hope there will be more but as it touched on some others, I doubt it.

Interesting that CNN suggests these are the worlds most luxurious:

CNN has a list of routes:

1. Venice Simplon-Orient-Express: London to Venice

2. Golden Eagle: Moscow to Vladivostok

3. Blue Train: Pretoria to Cape Town

4. The Ghan: Adelaide to Darwin

5. Rovos Rail: Southern and eastern Africa

6. The Rocky Mountaineer: Banff to Vancouver

7. Belmond Royal Scotsman: Scottish Highlands.

8. The Canadian: Toronto to Vancouver

9. Maharajas' Express: Delhi to Mumbai

10. The Transcantabrico Gran Lujo: San Sebastian to Santiago de Compostela

11. Seven Stars: Kyushu, Japan

Yet other websites have a slightly different list:

1. Maharajas’ Express, India

2. Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express, Russia

3. Royal Scotsman, Scotland

4. Venice Simplon Orient Express, Europe

5. Eastern & Oriental Express, South East Asia

6. Rocky Mountaineer, Canada

7. Pride of Africa

8. Blue Train, South Africa

9. Palace on Wheels, India

10. Indian Pacific, Australia

Shame really as it was quite interesting.  I would have liked to see the Orient Express in detail.

But would they call it 1 of 6 if it's only one?

This suggests a complete series, but not all about trains:

Episode 2 : https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme/e/jmyck6/worlds-most-luxurious--s1-e2-the-worlds-most-luxurious-superyacht-super-yachts/

Episode 3 : https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme/e/jmwn8b/worlds-most-luxurious--s1-e3-the-worlds-most-luxurious-home/

Incidentally 5 list the Yachts" program as Series 1 episode 1!

(That will be why my STB doesn't link to it)

No, but in terms of programme naming, S01E01 if there's only one is the set standard.

If Radio Times / Channels decide to say "Episode 1 of 6" that's their own naming technique (and unless part of the same series: World's Most Luxurious...." then it's also simply wrong :P).

However, you might be on to something as I watched one about a cruise ship not more than couple of weeks ago.
