D2000
This is turning out to be a nice little layout, you have done a good job on the traverse.

TechnicArrow
Now THAT'S recycling! I love modelling without spending anything, and that's an excellent re-use idea. This should be a good layout. 1 1

D2000
Looks very good, it’s amazing how everyday items can come in handy when making buildings and walls. We throw cardboard away not realising it’s great for models.
RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted August 25, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 25, 2019 Great stuff. Very creative and possibly ground breaking: Is this the first time in history that shoe hangers have been employed on a model railway? 1

TechnicArrow
It's looking excellent already! Although arduous, ballasting and ground cover really helps a layout-under-construction look much more complete than it is, as your forecourt already shows. The staircase idea sounds good if you can pull it off; alternatively, you could model it in disrepair, construction or renovation, so most of the treads are missing or stacked up somewhere nearby. I'm enjoying watching this scene develop, and look forward to seeing what random "waste" you can incorporate next!
Jeff P
Great job so far! What size rail are you using and who makes the points? We don't have much in the way of ready to run turnouts here in the US that aren't large size (Code 148) and eat up space.

Jeff P
I'm guessing it's a result of the 3 rail Lionel-type track to a 2 rail scale track. It would simulate some seriously heavy rail. Thanks ever so much for the information.

Thank you...forgot to mention I was looking for O Scale, hence the high rail height numbers but I see Peco has a range in O as well...

RMweb Gold Kevin Johnson Posted September 1, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2019 Nice work on the back scene, the steps and the brick walls. The blue is just about right.
