My photos on the 'Prototype for Everything' thread generated some interest so here are some more details from a trip to the Lungau Region of Austria. A beautiful and mountainous part of the world that is not overrun by tourists in summer. We stayed in a gorgeous chalet in the village of St Martin im Lungau www.stmartinchalets.at

Nearby is the Mur Valley railway which is part operational (diesel) and part preserved (steam https://www.mauterndorf.at/en/family/taurach-steam-train.html ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mur_Valley_Railway

The photos from the steam section from Mauterndorf to St Andra (website www.mauterndorf.at/en/family/taurach-steam-train.html  ) start here https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/89136-img_2103jpg

The diesel runs from Tamsweg to Unzmarkt. It is single line 760mm narrow gauge throughout. You can walk and cycle along side much of the line and the scenery is gorgeous. It follows the Mur valley and river and has lots of interesting railway and non-railway features. We cycled the section from Tamsweg to Einfach, and white water rafted from Ramingstein to Predlitz. Photos of it start here https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/89151-img_8491jpg/
