Alternative to Northwest Shortline Chopper

I'm looking for an alternative to the Northwest Shortline Chopper, to cut lengths of plastic strip and balsa. I wondered if a cheaper alternative was available. I did a search on this site, and TC-100-M ROD & TIMBER CUTTER FOR MODEL MAKERS, was recommended, but doesn't seem to be available on Ebay any more.

Thanks,

Tony

I use one of these (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Multi-Angle-Guillotine-Cut-Wood-Strips-Easily-Model-Making-/141113151088 (made in England would you believe. I've added a green cutting mat base, and an adjustable end stop is essential, but they are easy modifications to make.

It's worth bearing in mind that these are only for lightweight work though - they flex if trying anything too heavy

That looks interesting Jon, but are replacement blades easy enough to obtain please, or are they just conventional "Stanley Knife" blades?

Another option that I found recently is one of these;

I've not ordered anything from the manufacturer so can't comment on quality, robustness, etc.

I've got one of these and it's a basic if reasonable tool for cutting of wood and plastic strip but there's a fair amount of slack in the rivet on the chopping arm - I've since upgraded to a NWSL 'chopper' but will be keeping  it for roughing out and scenic work.

Hi all sorry it has been a while been away.  I have good news that the new cutting tool is out and here is the web site.

See what you think as I am only a beginner but looks ok to me.

Thanks

Looks promising, however to my mind there does seem to be an awful lot of razor blade left unsupported and therefore prone to flexing.  Is there any way the blade could be supported more?
