Kilbowie is a great layout  , having seen it at Model Rail Scotland a few years ago, and well worth going to the exhibition just for that. Having said that Greenock is by far the friendliest exhibition I go to. I can wonder round exhibitions and not speak to a soul , but I never get away with it at Greenock! Looking forward to it . You’ll know me . I’ll be the one is school shorts and my painting of Thomas the Tank Engine looking for free admission .

I'll be there with my in-progress layout Seething Lane, being exhibited in its current state to show and explain to folk whats involved in building a layout, and (hopefully) demo-ing the Roco z21 app based DCC system

Looking forward to a good show as always (and those bacon rolls...)

We have a new trader signed up for this year's show.

Shedring Hobbies are specialist scenic suppliers. Using the latest technology in resin and 3D printing to produce a wide range of scenic accessories for 1:76th scale.

We look forward to hosting Brian and his team on the 19th and 20th of October 2019.

I just discovered Shedring Hobbies at the weekend via a post on Facebook by Barnsford Bridge. Like me, they have a collection of Malcolm trucks and I see that Shedring do the Code 3 transfers for these.

So with both Barnsford Bridge and Shedring at the show, it gives me all the more incentive to plan a wee trip back home :)

Funnily enough I was just thinking to myself esp with the interest in Great Model Railway Challange that a part build demo layout would be of interest to visitors.  Quite often visitors will ask questions about how a layout was built when we are exhibiting.

Great idea.

My first visit to this show today and thoroughly enjoyed it; A good range of layouts in a nice venue with friendly people.

Unfortunately my return home was delayed by a person sadly being struck by a train at Fort Matilda, however McGills bus services came to the rescue.

Always a pleasure to go to this Exhibition . This year I think they are better than ever, truly punching above their weight. Brian’s Kilbowie was stunning as always , representing the area around Clydebank just across the water from me . Really a nice layout and for the first time seeing the scenic fiddle yard .  DCC showing of sound capabilities. The 009 layout was outstanding . I followed the train from station through the large S curve until disappearing from view . Like Kilbowie this layout is also a show stopper . To have two layouts of that calibre in a much larger exhibition would be outstanding, so well done Greenock . And of course that’s not to miss out the other exhibitors. Always a pleasure to talk to John and enthuse over all things Hornby-Dublo .  A really friendly exhibition . I liked the spot the minis competition .

Still on on Sunday. Well worth the day out. Well done guys. A great exhibition showing all that’s best in model railways, and not a volcanoe in sight. Showing model railways are interesting in themselves without addition of GMRC earthquakes, volcanoes and monsters!.

Kilbowie is indeed a great layout, and got my vote for the best exhibit (Hopefully when they announce the results there is the compulsory dramatic pause before the winner is declared ?!) I arrived in Glasgow much too late (1984) to see such scenes, but the layout shows how it was.

A very good exhibition again, several good layouts of different subjects, scales and sizes - quality throughout. My personal favourite was Bryn Hebog, with its railway in a landscape and a consistent high standard of modelling throughout - stock, scenics, running. The usual good catering, and I was impressed at the activities provided for the younger children. And above all, friendly with lots of good chat with exhibitors and public alike.

If you hoped to see Seething Lane, 12AD had to do a last minute switch to Jacks Hill because of family circumstances beyond control meaning Seething Lane couldn't make it this time. Hopefully another time...

Thanks everyone for your positive comments and yes Kilbowie did win the cup. We all enjoyed the show but will need to scratch our heads to come up with better next year. We hope to see you all again next year. You can follow events as they unfold on Facebook.
