Bourton on the Water

37405 is back on home rails. A few bits to glue and a missing socket from its time with Hornby magazine.

There also appears to be a shorting issue with it as it keeps tripping out the NCE controllers, very odd indeed.

Ordered a replacement small  orange socket located under the buffer beam from Gaugemaster but they are out of stock.... typical!

Trying to locate the source of the problem.

I think there's a whole axle and pair of wheels missing?

Hat, coat...

Ps re the orange socket, it might be worth a quick look on Google images to see if any of their other locos have similar?

Indeed. On mine I did come to the conclusion that part of the problem was/could be there was so much grease that a foreign body/swarf had got trapped in between the gears..

Good news after removing the two wheels sets and replacing trying to reline gears the ‘clunking’ and jumping of wheel set has stopped.

Getting the cover plate back on was an effort to say the least. Having fat fingers one screw has disappeared into the body.

Thanks all for suggestions and help, much appreciated :good:
