Nearholmer
I built a model of that in H0 scale donkey's years ago, and I can tell you that it is really very small!
RMweb Gold Corbs Posted November 4, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) I stumbled across this oddity earlier today and thought of this thread.... https://rcts.zenfolio.com/industrial-and-light/industrial-steam/other/hA8867548#hb934502b 0-6-0T No. 1 (Hohenzollern 3283 of 1914) at NCB, Haworth Colliery 2/9/51 Gordon Edgar wrote a bit about it here: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=xSo2DwAAQBAJ&pg=PT162&lpg=PT162&dq=Hohenzollern+3283+of+1914&source=bl&ots=Hbi_ewkzIO&sig=ACfU3U05o1qyK58CQnc6DKwVB-GJfmEUpA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwirzPOa0dHlAhV1oVwKHQ_IBoEQ6AEwAHoECAYQAQ#v=onepage&q=Hohenzollern 3283 of 1914&f=false Edited November 4, 2019 by Corbs
Steadfast
On 03/10/2019 at 08:02, TomJ said: Foster Yeoman brought a US General Motors switcher for shunting at Merehead. It was partly their experience with it that lead to their acquiring the class 59 from GM Hanson at Whatley have one too. Both switchers are SW1001s, and work 24/7 for the quarries. The Whatley loco was acquired second hand and is ex African, so some cab gauges are in French! Jo

Nearholmer
AEI was formed by amalgamation of the ex-GE company BTH and metrovick, which was owner of what had been British Westinghouse, in 1928, so AEI were bang-on in claiming the locos built in 1931 as theirs. The design concept was wholely American, coming out of two ex-American firms, but they were indeed built in Britain. I believe that the preserved on is still oou, following a generator flashover two years ago. Edited November 29, 2019 by Nearholmer
