RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted September 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) Morning all. Has anyone picked up one of the new Bachmann slate built engine shed? I'm looking to use one for a OO industrial layout and would like to know the size of the entrance to the shed, height x width. Could anybody measure their hole..........so to speak? . Many thanks. didcot
If I remember I will have a quick measure tonight!
'CHARD
43mm high by 36mm wide aperture, this excludes any allowances for ballaast, track etc... HTH 1
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted September 19, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 19, 2019 Thanks both for the replies. That helps. It would be nice to see what people do with these and the other buildings in the series. Rob.
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted June 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2020 (edited) A bit of an update. I appreciate that I am using these in a standard gauge scenario but I hope my treatment of these buildings demonstrate a slight improvement over the factory finish. Rob. Its a comparison that others have drawn as well. Its a layout that can be wherever (within reason of course) that you want it to be. I must say though, whereas locos from the LM&SR, certain ex-GWR and ex-L&NER, types as well as industrials, look at home, anything ex-Southern looks decidedly uneasy. Rob.
