Does anyone know if DRS has hired these in? C6T. As of last week DRS have long term hired (for five years) five DB Class 66s. These are: 66031, 66091, 66108, 66122 & 66126. Their is also the option to long term hire a further five or even ten Class 66s from DB. These are yet to be identified (if it does happen). It is thought that the long term hire of several 66s is to allow DRS to withdraw it's Class 20/3s, 37s & 57s. All of the above five 66s except 031 have now been dispatched to Anglia for RHTT duties to cover for 57002 & 57003 which are now back at Crewe Gresty Bridge following their unreliability. I also have it on good authority that these five 66s will be repainted into DRS livery after the RHTT season for 2019 finishes. Hope this helps. RMweb Gold 4630 Posted October 21, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 21, 2019 On the 21st October 2019, a day along the Calder Valley when the morning conditions justify treatment of the railhead, Network Rail MPV DR98904 paired with DR98954 pass through Hebden Bridge with 3S08, Wigan LIP to Wigan LIP... ...after reversal a few miles down the line at Greetland Junction, the spraying duo returned on the next leg of the diagram.

Then 302 was swopped for 303 (presumably after repairs to it's wheels) to work with 314. So today you will have seen 303 with 314. Also of note is that 20311 & 20314 which have been registered in the GBRf pools list as GBEE for the past few years whilst working with the S Stock trains have now been re-registered with their former DRS pool XHCK in the DRS pools list. Who would have thought that several years ago when DRS sold these two to HNRC, that they would then return to DRS operation under their former pool, with other Class 20/3 classmates on hire to DRS a few years later. The HNRC pair should remain under DRS operation until at least the end of the 2019 Yorkshire RHTT season in December. HNRC & DRS have a joint operational requirement to supply locos for this years RHTT season with the current shortage of appropriate Class 20/3 traction. Hope this helps.

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted November 1, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 1, 2019 (edited) Finally caught my "local" 3J11 for some dodgy phone pics I can sometimes see this four times on one diagram as it passes my house and work twice. Although mostly in the dark, there are 3 days during the week when it passes work in daylight. It has been 66301/302 since day one until a couple of days ago when 37259 replaced one of them for one session. 68001 with 66302 passed my house last night, but at some point during the circuit, the 68 was replaced with 66434. A very grubby 66302 leads a clean (but not for long) 66434 through Settle on a gloomy 1st November. For the weathering fans - note how the tank above the jetting head is fairly clean. 434 can't have been on very long as it is still clean. Quite a coincidence to catch these two, as they are the same pair that power my model RHTT...………….. Edited November 1, 2019 by newbryford

Steadfast
Monday 11 November, 3S59 the Bristol RHTT reverses at Westbury in Platform 1. The Bristol set was out of use for a few days (down to the RHTT modules, not locos) so NR got Colas to put the Gloucester set on the Bristol diagram to at least get it done that night as it hadn't been done the last few nights.
