Rolling stock on the Mallaig extension in the 1950's/60's

Hello all, if you've seen my previous thread asking for plans and drawings of Glenfinnan station, I was initially looking at modelling it in the 1980's. I'm now thinking that  the late 1950's/early 1960's might be more interesting, especially from a rolling stock weathering and operational point of view. I've already got a couple of Hornby K1's and would like to make kits of a K2/2 and a D34 Glen. I'm also thinking of starting by modelling Lochailort station first as a few modules at home and then moving onto Glenfinnan as an exhibition layout. (Pictures of Lochailort graciously accepted as I've seen very few).

What I'm struggling with is identifying the types of passenger and freight stock in use at the time. From photos I've seen there seems to be a large variety, which is part of the appeal.

From various books and images online I think I've identified coaches like Gresleys in a mix of teak, crimson and cream and maroon combined with Mk1s in crimson and cream and maroon. No idea on the actual types and classes.

The main online sources I've looked at:

Fish trains seem to be a major component but I am completely clueless when it comes to identifying types. Did lner fish vans like the ones Parkside make kits for last until the late 50's? There seems to be some 6-wheelers present, as well as standard BR vented and unvented vans. I'm sure I saw a southern 2x2 van at Mallaig in one photo. I'm keen to get other wagons like CCT's and open wagons too so any info on those would be wonderful. I'm not looking to get everything exact but i'd like to buy/make wagons that are plausible for the period.

Any info on specific types of wagons, coaches etc that were in use would help me greatly in my search for rolling stock to acquire. Hopefully I can make a list of rtr models to look out for and kits to acquire.

Cheers

Evan
