Gordon A
I have a dead Bachman motor on which I would like to fit new carbon brushes and springs. Does any one know of a source of 1.5mm diameter carbon brushes and springs? Gordon A
davknigh
DCC Concepts have brushes, not sure of the exact sizes but they might be worth a try. Cheers, David

DCB
I don't know about brushes but I have just received some 1.5mm dia springs from Springs and Things https://SpringsAndThings.me.uk and stores.ebay.co.uk/firstcompression They do any length, mine are 5mm. 1.5mm looks very small for a brush, are you sure that is the right size?
Gordon A
Thanks for the information David. Yes I am sure. I took the Bachman motor to pieces and removed the brushes for measuring. I have some brushes at 1.6 mm but they are too tight, so I am still after a source of 1.5mm diameter round carbon brushes. Gordon A

RobjUK
They are probably Bachmann part number 81201-BRUSH https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10626 I can't find anyone with them in stock, though.
Gordon A
I have fitted a Bachman motor with a spare brush and spring set for a Hanazono motor H.1024/DS10 from Branchlines of Westbury. The motor runs nicely where before it did not run at all, I think due to worn out brushes. I had to open the brush mounting tube with a cheap 1.7mm drill as the Hanazono brushes are slightly larger in diameter. It may pay to shorten the Hanazono brushes by 1mm. I will try ordering a spare brush set from Bachman. Gordon
