Thanks Adrian, once again the tiny fingers and big eyes triumph over mere mortals...

When this is all dry properly, I will dry-brush over it with Matt White, for all that lime-dust goodness...

Thanks for looking,

Al.

Dont worry Rob, you're not alone, I feel it too!

Stunning work Al, looking just like the photo.

Thanks very much, all of you.

You know what they say... If you can't beat 'em, join 'em... :D  I expect some industrial sheepness, and peckettness and muddleness. I think Adrian's already done that with Ewer Street.

Here's a couple of shots in the daylight, now it's dried.

A well-observed bit of modelling there, Al, even if it is from photos. Brings back memories of when I used to go out with my dad in his lorry to various Derbyshire quarries in the late 50s, early 60s.

Thanks very much Jonathan.

Oh, and before anybody else says it, it's not got any rivets.

I know. I thought I'd got some sheets of Archers, but I'm buggered if I can find them, so Plan B will be enacted... when I've thought of it...

Hi Al,

Blimey mate, that's amazing!

When I first saw your window frames, I thought 'OMG, he's only bevelled the corners', what a relief, when I saw you had (sensibly), used butt joints, phew!

Absolutely terrific work and nicely weathered too. But, it does still have that "wet" look, I wonder if that could get some "dry" powders added?

Not a criticism, just an observation old bean.

Cheers,

John.

Hi John,

Thanks very much. No, I think bevelled corners is a step too far...

I agree, it needs to look more dusty. I don't know if you can get white weathering powders - I would expect so - so I might have to get some.

Alternatively, I could just chuck some Johnson's Baby  Powder at it... It would smell nice, too... :D

Cheers mate,

Al.

It’s superb Al, not that I thought it would turn out otherwise

I do admire your attention to detailage

Oh and I’ve visited many quarry’s with my job and none of the smell of baby power

Try airbrushing the whole scene once all the buildings are planted. That's what I did. I used various light greys but mainlt Tamiya Deck Tan. Weathering powders, too, help with making the buildings dusty.
