RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted September 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2019 When first laid, painted and ballasted, I use fine grade emery paper. Eventually, after a few weeks, the rail tops will be polished smooth, and rail joints smoothed off too. When that has been achieved, only use a cloth and track cleaning fluid. Any further abrasive can introduce scratches in the rail top that will attract and harbour further dirt build-up.
RMweb Premium zarniwhoop Posted September 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2019 If really dirty, a track rubber. After that, I use Track Magic.

millerhillboy
I use IPA and cotton buds now and again, you can see the dirt that comes off with that
