Tried to persuade my wife we need it as a garden feature.  To be fair, she said if a) we had the money, and b) it wasn't for the fact it's bigger than the garden, she'd consider it...

And the completely inexplicable addition of "Thomas the Tank Engine" to the title!

Also "all the major items appear to be there" - very reassuring for £5000!

Not a bad price to be honest.

All major items do seem to be there. Boiler, wheels, chassis, cylinders, rods, buffers. tank.

The problem comes to moving it. Then finding a decent home. Then restoring it.

A trivial matter....

Good point, £5k isn't much more than a small industrial diesel.  Ironically if this small tank engine was from an ex-BR class the price would probably increase ten-fold.

Hi there,

Interesting sale.  Out of curiousityI looked at the listing, and it gives a potted history of both locos; one of them is listed as having been new to "Colziumquarry Co LTD".  The only Colzium I am aware of is in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire.  There were quarries nearby but I don't recall ever seeing them described as having rail connections or networks.  Does this mean that it's another Colzium?  If so, where?

Regards,

Alex.

And a loco that was plinthed near Daventry town centre for a few years. I think it eventually moved to a preservation site. This photo was in Nov 1978.

The lighting on this picture is wonderful! Thanks Graham.

I definitely haven't taken money from Hattons. No sirree.....

Gordon Edgar's Flickr photostream is an easy way to lose an hour or two..... He has loads of photos of locations I've hardly ever seen photographed, such as inside RNAD Trecwn when it was still operational.

Yep and he has photographed some weird and wonderful industrial diesel locos.

Such a rich source of modelling inspiration there - thank you is not enough!

(I now know how to tackle that slate shed roof that was puzzling me!)
