The 2018 Bachmann Retailer of the Year Award was recently presented to Trident Trains of Nantwich. The shop, which was first established in 2004, was taken over by current proprietor Richard Spibey in 2008, and under Richard’s ownership it has been transformed from a general modelling store into a one stop shop for railway modellers. Richard has concentrated on trains and now stocks everything the railway modeller could wish for with a comprehensive range of Bachmann products from Branchline, Graham Farish and Scenecraft alongside a wide selection of Woodland Scenics.

The award was presented by David Bowker, Bachmann Europe’s Area Sales Representative, and Tony Lowe, Field Sales Manager and after presenting Richard with the award, Tony said: “Customers who visit Trident trains are in for a real treat, Richard’s enthusiasm and passion for the hobby is part of the overall shopping experience. Visiting Trident Trains is a pleasure and I cannot imagine any customer, either beginner or an experienced modeller, to go away empty handed after visiting this store. We often get asked what it takes to be a Bachmann Europe Retailer of the year, and Trident Trains is our current answer – a one stop shop for all your model railway needs.”

The Bachmann Retailer of the Year Award was launched in 2001 and has been presented annually thereafter.

Trident Trains are open Wednesday to Sunday in The Craft Arcade (Unit 10). Dagfields Craft Centre, Crewe Road, Walgherton, Nantwich, CW5 7LG.

They can be contacted on 01270 842400 or via their website at www.tridenttrains.co.uk.

is it that they flog more stuff than anyone else?

No, it's a combination of factors including presentation of the brand and service.

Possibly one of the best and most friendly model shops you could ever shop in.

I model Irish so my purchases are limited but what always impressed me is the way Richard takes time for even the complete novice with advice and top tips.   Well done.

Trident is my shop of choice, only 15 mins from home and open in a Sunday when I forget things for the layout.

been shopping there since richard took over from the other guy, he certainly turned the place around, amazing what a friendly face can do, always like to have a laugh with him, (mostly over highly inappropriate things)

if your in the area it’s certainly worth a look in the shop and the ‘antique’ barns in dagfields, be warned though trident is closed Monday and Tuesday
