SIGNAL BOX STEPS

This may be a silly question but............do signal box steps always have to face the platform?

I am modelling a small Southern Region terminus but the signal box I want use has the steps facing away from the platform.

I suppose I could have a footpath behind the box leading back to the station or that just wrong?

Hi. Thanks for the link, fantastic collection of pictures.

I suppose logic and most of those pictures, shows the steps facing the platform.

I will either have to turn my layout around (not easy) or find another signal box.

Shame kit manufacturers don't give you the option!!!!

That's where kit-bashing comes in - make your own options to make what you want out of the kit parts. Slavishly following kit instructions is not compulsary.

What's to lose? The price of a signal box kit (find something cheap to practice on if you have doubts).

 

What's to gain? Modelling experience to last you a lifetime.

 

Don't the old maxim that the man who never made a mistake  never made anything.

I think it will be easier than re-building the baseboards!!!!!!!
