Wanted: Hornby L&Y Pug axles/gears/wheels

Hi all,

 

One of my Pug chassis has sadly stripped a gear on the drive axle. Does anyone out there have a spare rear axle with wheels for the L&Y Pug?

Yes I have a set left  over from a P4 conversion the tricky bit will be finding them. I have to go to work now I'll be in touch later. Mick

Don't know if it's still available, but Branchlines used to do a replacement gear in brass.

PS. Looks like you have a solution above, but worth trying if you ever need another.

I had the same problem but dealt with it by getting hold of the final drive gear from a terrier and removing the smaller half leaving one that has the right size axle hole and the right ratio its then a question of removing one wheel from the pug axle and pressing on the gear, replacing the pug wheel and quartering and away you go.

 

really it does work

 

I have got pug wheels and axles but no gears!

 

by final drive I mean the bit that goes on the axle!

I think the bit you need is called the double gear assembly  they are about 3 squids a go from flea bay
