RMweb Gold Right Away Posted October 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2019 I have a Hornby Maunsell BTK (R4796A) where one bogie does not pivot freely. I would like to remove the culprit for inspection but cannot fathom out how as it looks very delicate. Would any member out there know the procedure, please. Thanks in anticipation. RMweb Gold Right Away Posted October 23, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2019 Thanks Alex Bogie’s off. Had to prise from side with screwdriver.
John Tomlinson
Only just seen this post. It can be less traumatic to take the chassis off the body first, then the bogies easily unclip from above. To remove the chassis, there are four clips from the body in the corners, these need to be pushed back, and using the buffers to press against lift each corner of the chassis away from the body in turn. I started off using the prising screwdriver method, and came perilously close to causing serious damage in the process! John.
