This one arrived with the post-person on 24 October.

I had expected a vacuum-fitted wagon but the chassis is exactly the same as the earlier grey unfitted version and lacking a brake cylinder.

I consulted my wagon 'bible' , (David Larkin's Working Wagons Volume 1) and the model (B9222283) , seems similar to a pictured one, B922350 (photographed in 1969).

This is described as an unfitted one from diagram 1/477, built in 1958 but being in original bauxite livery.

So this one isn't for your fully-fitted freights after all.

We never stop learning in this hobby!

It is the way of the world getting the most out of a moulding! Bachmann is no worse than any other producing a model of something that is similar and producing a correct livery on it, rather like the Scunthorpe 100 ton tipplers produced by Lima in several of the aggregate liveries. This is rather like the forthcoming Hattons 4 wheel & 6 wheel coaches they are all things to all men!
