Thanks Rob, I much prefer slightly muted colours. Got my inspiration from yourself and a few others on here plus the Gordon Gravett book 🙂

The layout is ready for it's first outing in a few weeks. It seems to run well and I've come up with a method of operating pinched from the great Dave Tailby. Got to assemble a toolbox and anything else I might need now and finish weathering some bits of rolling stock.

The layout looks superb.
Excellent weathering an track work if I may say so.

Where is your first outing?

Thank you. I tried to make the track look run down, but that can interfere with the running sometimes. Something I'm currently ironing out.

The show is here,

It's always a top show and well worth a visit.

Aw shucks!!!!

Looking forward to seeing RS in the flesh Steve.  Steve Farmers bringing Hillport Goods too so there'll be some good stuff there........I'm bringing Top Yard too, just in case people get over excited about the standard of layouts being too high!

Disgusting of Market Harborough

PS I hear your groupies from Kent may be in attendance too!🤣

If anyone from here is going come and say hi, although the layout is so small it's prob easy to miss!

Lol thanks Dave, look forward to seeing Top Yard, if I can get away from the layout and I think I am opposite Hillport so hopefully I'll get to see that. 😀

Do you think it would be possible to see an overall airial shot of the layout? and possibly the fiddle yard?

Here's a couple I snapped yesterday at Shenfield (I was Steve's neighbour with my Czech TT micro)

Ruston Sidings is absolutely superb in the flesh, the sense of space and place, the colour palette are spot-on. Later in the afternoon, with the sunlight through the hall windows falling just-so... Stunning!

Thank you so much for posting those photo's, I enjoyed myself and it was a pleasure to be in such esteemed company as yourself and Dave Tailby and to be opposite Dave Farmer, all inspirational layout builders. I liked the way you presented Novo Mesto and the research you've put into it, and the way you transported it!

So Ruston Sidings is back home safe and sound and suitably adorned with it's badge,

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, massive thanks to Tim for helping me out, he made it a lot easier.

It was a great show with some fine layouts and modelling on show.

The layout performed well as did the Rustons and the operating method worked out too, although most of the time I was just shuffling wagons around.

I managed to get a few photo's later in the day when it was quieter.
