Guest WM183
Hello all! My question today concerns the various 4 wheel coaching stock as modeled by Ratio; I know it saw use into the 1950s as workmen's trains stock in Wales, but when did these sort of coaches leave standard scheduled passenger service? They sure are nice for small BLT style layouts given their size, after all...! Amanda

Penrhos1920
The ratio kits are designs T49, S9 & U4. You can lookup their condemnation dates on my website below.
Guy Rixon
The GWR's "Main line and City" stock of, IIRC, the 1920s presumably displaced 4-wheeled predecessors. Some of the coaches in the miners' trains were the kind with the round-topped doors for the Metropolitan tunnels, so they may have moved to Wales in the 1920s. Or were they in store for a long time? Miss Prism
The Birmingham district always had a bunch of Metro sets, but they were probably released from London after 1905/6. It is possible Birmingham got some more of the Metro sets after the arrival of the 'Main Line and City' stock, but my feeling is a few were dispersed (although not as sets) to some branch lines (Faringdon had a couple iirc) with the majority being scrapped.
