Time will tell, I suppose. Videos of both projects are available here so you can choose for yourself.

Are they? Have you a link to the videos please?

I looked on the DC Kits site but no sample seems to be available.

edit…..s’ ok…found them samples on the Wheeltappers site.

The processing of pre-orders has started according to Rails

Those with sound will be later as the chips need fitting.

Good, glad of the slight delay for the sound version……gives me time to remove the masking tape from the tracks and clean up the rails ready for its arrival……it had better be good

My account was debited yesterday, I am really looking forward to receiving this loco. Will wait a little while before fitting sound (probably a few minutes after receiving the loco) so that I can look at what will be available.

Did you receive an email from Rails to pay the balance of the order.

Terry.

I just had a notification from my bank that the transaction was pending.

Did 18100 have spoked wheels? That's what the model description says. Also only two axles driven per bogie.

“All four axles,” the blurb says but there should be six. All the same, I’m pretty ecstatic. I hope the Class 80 is a success because it might prompt other manufacturers to look again at the earlier ACs and, you never know, the Rails-Heljan alliance might take a look at the Class 70s. No, not those, the electrics.

Here we have a prime exhibit from thr rail transport 1951; South Bank Exhibition of The Festival Of Britain. Seen by yours truly on the stand .An excellent and logical progression from it earlier Swiss counterpart. Rails once again at the forefront of developing something different.
