It's going to be a long night in front of the Box in the corner. :o

Still we have plenty of snacks in, and the kettle is always hot, (it was going to be wine, but were saving that to have with a Take away tomorrow night).:good:

I do love Election programs.:yahoo:

I think it's funny watching the BBC News website on election day. There's nothing they can say until polling's closed, so they have to fill the day with pointless speculation and pictures of dogs waiting outside polling stations.

Bed at 6am, up again at 08.30 and out to TOPS at 11.30, and managed to get the Gates done to the Yard entrance, and just tacked the Portacabin together to see how it looks.

The yellow card is just supporting the Gates until the glue sets.

This morning I've put a facia around the front of the Layout. It will eventually be painted to hide the joints, it also acts as a safety net for Stock in the area next to the controller, as I was born clumsy, I didn't need to train for it.

I've also re done the Yard entrance as I was a coupe of inches short of fencing so pinched a bit from there. The Portacabin is also built now as well.

What a difference the ballasting makes. :D

How did the Woodland Scenics ballast dry in the end on the passenger line? I've never used their ballast so I'm interested to know how it turns out.

For future builds, Chinchilla dust makes for great - fine grain - ballast and it's cheap as chips compared to the "made for purpose" stuff. :)

Nice layout at any rate Andy. Looks like the start of another absolute cracker.

Thanks Daniel, It dried better than expected in the  end, I think I should have done what I did with Pencarne, and mixed two colours together, the same as you get with the Gaugemaster, to break up the bland porridge look a bit.

I'll have to have a look for that Chinchilla Dust before doing the next project. Cheers.

I've got a jar of random mixings for when I'm ballasting - chinchilla dust, WS fine black, as well as various shades of dark grey, brown and green for doing track that's not particularly well maintained, so that probably was a good call.

Still, the clean look of the station ballast is a fantastic contrast to the mess of the yard. :)

A very successful morning so far, I've painted the facia in a gloss green, and also the embankment inside ready to add Flock etc later.

And also added more greenery to the Track areas and bushes to the Fencing.

Andy

its all looking good. But there appears to be a dodgy joint coming off that point in 1st pic.

Might be worth a check before you get too far on.

All the best

Yes Tony, I saw that in the pics just now, but I had no running issues, but it will be sorted mate, Cheers.

In fact I had to add two small lengths of Rail to come to the Baseboard Joint, their held in with a couple of Fish Plates so probably got Kevined / NUDGGED.

Just now, muddy water said:

Would the AWS ramp  for the signal be on the board or beyond the bridge? Also would it have two ramp/magnets for bi-directional operation?

Just a thought.

It  might be just a model railway, but you made the time to make everything on it prototypical!

I would imagine it would have two Ramps, one either side of the Signal, mine are in a box in the Deep Souf, so I either have to wait, or buy some more.

They will be fitted, as will the Peco dummy Point Motors for the Points at the Yard entrance, all the others will be hand levers, again guess where they are.

Next job is to make the Road over Bridge and finish off the Fuelling Point area, and then AS is finished BUT NOT FOR SALE, I'm enjoying it enough to want to keep it.

It's turned out quicker, considering the number of re starts I had at first, and better than expected.:good:.
