I was there on the Saturday arriving courtesy of UK Railtours which maybe explains why the show had a sudden influx of visitors around 2:00pm.

Coming from down here in the far south east corner of the country (which meant getting up at 4:45am!!) I found the show to be quite interesting especially as many of the layouts and traders present don't appear on the exhibition circuit down this way.

One problem I did find was the difficulty of getting a good view of the N-gauge layouts most of which seemed rather low  compared to the height of the OO and O-gauge layouts. Must admit that some of the best views I got were from the videos above done by Trent Valley Railway.

…… and for Baz, dates of next years show are Saturday/Sunday 12th & 13th December.

I got the impression where possible the layouts were at a lower level to appeal to the family audience and younger visitors being able to see the layouts without the need for steps. Thanks for your kind comments on the videos Keith.

Manchester Exhibition 2019

Here is a selection of my photos taken on the Saturday, not the best, I’m afraid as a lot of the layouts were very busy and hard to get close to. It seems the GMRC has had quite an effect as there certainly were lots of families in attendance.

Having been corralled into operating on this layout (Great fun, thanks, Bob!), I am embarrassed that I only snapped these shots, D’oh!

Could someone who has Jeremy Suter’s contact details (who was selling photographs at the show) Please send me a message. Id like to purchase some more from him.

Many thanks.

Mike, I googled it for you and Jeremy Suter is GCR427 on ebay.
HTH,
