rob D2
Now in green ! just awaiting the Railtec decals to finish it off . 5
rob D2
A special for Tidworth departs behind parcels sector 47467 - borrowed as Banford normally only has one RFD 47 on site for the Bicester / kineton runs ( or maybe just because I like the manky old thing !);)

rob D2
Almost there with this , renumbering via railtec decals , just awaiting RFD flashes and Carlisle foxes for the van now . Chose 47339 as a late repaint to RFD so the livery hadn’t faded much in the mid 90s ( chassis actually destined for 47016 so the red buffer beams aren’t entirely accurate , but ran out of chassis ), if railtec eventually do a faded RFD logo I may change its identity again
rob D2
Trying to make this VGA more manky , with the addition of the distinctive diamonds where the hazchem stickers have been pulled off Edited November 26, 2021 by rob D2
rob D2
So putting it all together - one of the great appeals of the mid to late 90s was the fact tatty old trains of conventional vans still ran - especially for the MOD. A few vans doesn’t get much more colourful than this four ..
rob D2
So , the south sidings chock full with MOD trains …… And then I ripped up most of the left end of the layout ! 3 years down the line some changes have to be made . I’m fairly happy with the quality of most of the track, but the concrete loading docks existed from its original station idea so had to go. The TMD looked a bit odd on a small stub of track - I’ll make a smaller one - like peterborough and move it to the through siding at the front . I want to make some more feel of a conurbation , so a bit of motorway , but of canal, and get some height at the back , that’s the plan at least ! I know have a gasometer floating in space….the backscene is rubbish I need to do something with that too…
rob D2
so , the slight re alignment continues . ballasted the extension to the sidings - i'm rebuilding the bridge with panels to put down this end ... which the aim is to be a bit like peterborough . i have a chance to get the aspects right that weren't due to the compromised plan that started as something else . rob D2
bit of a blank canvas again at present . been running some BR blue - nice to get the 31s out and some GUVs and BGs and go back to the early 80s. without the TMD the only really " bit modern " part is the palisade fencing but i can live with it . painted the cleared area in " midnight black " from wickes - find it easier to visualise something new then . Not sure what that'll be yet - branch line ? factory ? oil terminal ? can't be too 80s specific for when i inevitably get the 90s toys out again

rob D2
Merry Christmas everybody ! Another pretty awful year where models, running, cycling and banter have kept me going once more .. Hope you enjoy the festivities ! 2
rob D2
Haven’t got that far. Added a siding under the bridge and the bridge is being redeveloped as a concrete style bridge. Ive put a fuelling point in on the kick back sidings - needs a lot more work and I’ll probably put a low relief TMD up that end . Also discovered the the tosca paint markers are pretty good for cantrails - looking to finish 47016 soon and 47467 if I’m brave enough will try and be weathered in its last years once I get some sky blue enamel for the patches .

rob D2
Redevelopment continues . The bridge will be a concrete style - awaiting girders for underside. The fuelling point is coming on , and at the end of its siding I’m putting in a very low relief shed entrance based on peterborough . The large blank area behind the sidings - I was thinking about a standard town set up, but I may make something a bit more interesting building wise .

rob D2
Bit of transrail action tonight ! Almost forgot i had this one , tucked up in a draw . I have enough locos to run 1995, 1996 first EWS , 1998+ EWS . Not enough for 2005 plus but for some reason i can't bring myself to buy 67s to replace my 37s as trip locos
rob D2
A labour of love, but 47016 is finished . It’s staying in smart guise Circa repaint in 1994, decals are the usual quality product from railtec and plates are from shawplan , pretty nice too . I’ve made the layout a bit more rural at the front with the addition of the edge of a cricket pitch 9

rob D2
Well it’s the end of the road for this project . Other layouts need building ! rather than junk it from the get go, I wonder if anyone wants to take it on as an ongoing project ? 2 boards , making just under 10’ ( 1.5m x 2= 3m) and 17.5” wide ( 45 cm). These were made professionally by white rose model works and are laser cut Plywood . it’s peco code 75 bullhead on scenic and code 75 on the fiddle. 9 bullhead points and 6 peco code 75 electrofrogs , all currently controlled by cobalt IP DCC point motors . It all works but my wiring is a bit disorganised (!) so each bit of track goes to a busbar and eventually 2 wires go to whatever controller . there’s no legs and most of the backscene is a bit of MDF, attached to my wall, you can have the one scenting fiddle from 2 kick back sidings . all told total value of the points, point motors, track and boards is £718.25 at current prices, but if someone wants it I’d take a sensible number . PM if interested, will need collecting from Swindon
