Accurascale announces at KUA in OO gauge

Recommended Posts

I picked up mine at the post office today (Victoria Australia), very impressive beasts.

Well worth the wait

Was very surprised at how heavy the box was.

Just checked the Parcelforce website and it seems mine is out for delivery today! Now feel like a five-year-old waiting for Christmas Day...where's the postie, where's the postie?

Updated at 14:49: Had to go out for five minutes and guess what, Parcelforce turned up to deliver, me not home, so no parcel left in a safe place! Got to wait 24 hours to collect from local post office tomorrow morning...

25 minutes ago, Tony Walker said:

For those that weren't certain about what was missing from my previous video! And by the way, what a great model.

The train is travelling in the opposite direction in this video, so obviously the previous video was just the two locomotives and escort coaches going to pick up their load and they are now returning with some spent nuclear rods.  Funny how the KUAs were invisible when they were empty, or perhaps they have a cloaking device when they are loaded.

As others have said the models are stunning, they have a presence that no other item of stock (maybe apart from a HO scale US 'Big Boy'!) can match. Straight out of the box they’re very heavy...the pair weigh in at 825g...a Hatton's 66 is 750g! :O

Finally my DRS MK2a escort coaches have something to run with...probably a decade since I got them!

Very, very impressed; top marks Accurascale! This is my first item of stock I’ve bought from yourselves...very much looking forward to the rest now! :good:

Was notified that they were on their way; shortly after despatch the courier sent an email to say the shipment has been delayed (no reason was given) but they quickly got customs clearance and arrived safely just now.  Haven't yet taken them out of the box but very pleased with them.

Must chase KR over GT3, but other matters are more pressing at the moment.

Had a similar situation to Harry Lime earlier in this thread.

Missed the delivery and will have to wait until tomorrow !!

Like the feedback from those who have taken delivery.  They look really good with their accompanying rolling stock.

Regards

Brilliant photo's from Jack374.

Like Jack I've had two 57's and two escort coaches for years with nothing to go in the middle.

Mine arrived today, fantastic model, amazing packaging.....although didn’t stop a ladder and coupling hook rattling around inside loose....no worries though, those bits are easy to reattach.

I’m still not sure if I’ll ever run it though

Getting jealous seeing these! I'm waiting patiently for my retailer to tell me when it's arrived with them! Looking forward to getting my hands on them especially now with what folk are saying on here!

At long last summer has finally arrived here on the south coast, so decided to spend most of the day  sat with the girls next door in their lovely garden having a rather good old time on ye olde Carlsberg, at some stage during the afternoon i nipped back indoors for some more replenishments only to find a parcel on the kitchen floor from Accurascale, yep, my KUA's had arrived, i'm over the moon, i'm not going to open the parcel today as the dustmen are due in the morning so will chuck the parcel straight in the recycle bin this evening as i believe thats the best place for them !

One thing worthy of note when using the Bachmann Mk2A coaches, the NEM coupling socket is slightly too high, so you will need to use a stepped down coupling to couple up to the KUA's. If not you may have problems running with two locos top and tail, like I've got set up. The forth picture on "Jack374"'s post above shows this clearly and the coach has a stepped coupling fitted.

Well guys, you have really raised the bar this time !. After some issues with postal handling on the previous models i have to admit that i was a little scared if im honest that they might arrive the same.............my worry was soon relinquished when i opened the box. All i can say is that these KUA's are simply fantastic.

Well packaged

Well wrapped

Well Good !!

Top marks guys on a fantastic model and a massive thumbs up from me. Im well chuffed
