Hroth
The cut-n-shut on the Hornby 4 wheelers looks a good winter evening project. Thanks for publishing the missing images, I may shrink them down, print them and paste them in! There was also a misplaced caption in the Fenny Stratford article, where the one for the Class 108 DMU picture was also applied to the previous picture, but that isn't a problem. I have loads of unpainted red 4 wheel coach bodies, maybe a workman's special into Rhywbeth Fel Pwll Glo is in the offing although I still have those Coopercraft/Kirk LNER 51 footers to build from 2007 ...........

A simple jig and the cutting up could be completed in minutes! What I want to know is, what do you do with all the spare ends? I suppose they could be turned into platform shelters... RMweb Gold Ryde-on-time Posted November 29, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 29, 2019 Finally, I can cross ‘appear in BRM’ off my bucket list. (It is only my hand and phone though) Good to see the write up on the Pendon visit as it was a brilliant day. When you factor in the free entry, lunch, tea & biscuits throughout the day, the afternoon scenery workshop, seeing behind the scenes / how it works, & access to photograph & view the vale scene with the screens down - to me it was worth a years subscription to Gold on its own 3

RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted November 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 30, 2019 It's official! Also some very nice work by Michael Russell on those 4-wheelers. I'm impressed by how he has completely transformed the Hornby donor bodies.

woodenhead
@Phil Parker I followed these steps to take the lifting roof off my Bachmann crane in step 4 to use to add as a roof to my bits of Hornby coaches in 8 as shown. Are you now saying that that was a mistake?

cactustrain
Quote Also some very nice work by Michael Russell on those 4-wheelers. I'm impressed by how he has completely transformed the Hornby donor bodies. Well to be fair, I did get some help from RMWebbers with this one, who were kind enough to share their knowledge with me. This shows the power of this forum and the marvelous spirit of the members. I also would respectfully suggest that we all buy BRM, even if just occasionally, to show our appreciation for the provision of this genuinely useful facility provided without charge. (I won't say free, because very few things in life are actually free).
RMweb Premium Legend Posted December 5, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 5, 2019 I kept a lookout for the printed magazine having seen the contents on here. I think this might be the first one I’ve bought this year, ironically as it’s the first of next years edition. Bought the magazine today at Tesco’s bundled with Traction. I have to say I’m very impressed . I bought it because of the selection of layouts and I’m thoroughly enjoying reading the articles . The photography is superb and the articles are certainly more meaty than Model Rail . Alderford was the.layout i was most interested in . Could have come with a layout diagram as I’d have liked to see how the terminus fits in. However the photos are super and article really good . Bosby shows what can be accomplished by someone new to the hobby and I thoroughly enjoyed this too. I like the layout of the article . Added to that there are further layouts in the model section of Traction and I really am blessed with reading matter to work through . Interesting articles on Peters Spares and building a laser cut signal box Too. Lots of reading to save me from the tedious election coverage on TV! Really well done guys . A thoroughly enjoyable edition. I did note the error with the pics in the coach article ,but no major issue for me as it’s already been dealt with on here. It maybe that I’m finding the layouts particularly appeal to me, but I’ll certainly keep an eye on BRM for future Éditions.
RMweb Gold CovDriver Posted December 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 6, 2019 I'm not sure if this has been asked previously but is there a DVD with the magazine as I was having a quick browse in Whsmith's in Northampton station yesterday and there was no DVD's attached to the front of the magazine. Other than that this looks to be a decent edition of BRM. Cheers Colin
RMweb Premium Legend Posted December 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 6, 2019 Not on mine Colin, but it was bundled with Traction. Might be limited to Tesco’s though
