it might sound daft, but I dont remember ever seeing the Scotrail liveried Mk2zs and Blue-Grey Scotrail branded Mk2s running together - perhaps they were in separate pools with the Scotrail liveried ones in with the push-pull (non Mk3) rakes

I've only seen them run as 4 x TSO with a 47/7 and DBSO all in ScotRail.  This was for a particular diagram Mon to Fri, or 3 x TSO with a blue grey Brake Second and a non 47/7 in charge.  These were on Edinburgh Dundee services.

 

I have only seen both described formations on video circa 1986.

 

There is one such formation near the start of this video.

 

 

And am pretty sure there is one in this video too.

The quarterly announcement is models that have not previously been announced and are expected in the following three months.

 

The February announcement is on https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/hierarchy/articles/announcements/

 

Of the models announced,the only models not in stock at Bachmann are the SR C Class (due March), the Europhoenix Class 37 and the 35 Ton PAA Ex-Bulk Grain Wagon 'Grainflow' (both are check with retailer).

Without trying to re-open the wider pricing debate and this may have been covered elsewhere when comparing with the Heljan offering but a class 45 - at least partially a new tooling is £145, yet a class 55 is £178 and a class 40 with very similar chassis/bogies is £188!

And the grills have the visible frame strengtheners clearly tooled in, so for now the edge is on Bachmann's for price and detail, though Heljans is only at EP stage, theres a way to go yet.

94xx in BR unicycling black back to December from September; with all that's going on in the world and especially China I'm not unhappy with this.  Thanks for posting, Paul, and well done Bachmann for keeping us in the loop.  At least it's not back to TBA; that would have spoiled my day!

The Bachmann website is showing 32-441 & 32-442 as TBA. As they aren't in my sphere of interest I wasn't aware that they were out.

My 2 HAPs have gone back to September, which is fine by me. But I wonder if they will stick to these dates, given there is now talk of a second wave (of the virus)? There are already reports of some new cases in China, not attributed directly to people returning from abroad. Not many, it is true.

My impression is that these dates are intentions; I think aspirations is a bit off the mark.  Whereas the 3  monthly bulletin scheduled for May 5 should be more or less promises.

Release dates for previously announced models have been updated on the Bachmann website. Below is a list of the OO gauge models that currently have a release date. For any OO gauge models that are not on the list, please check the Bachmann website.

 

Most models have had their planned release date moved forward by at least one month. A few have had their release dates moved back, notability the Class 117 & 121. The Class 45 Rep models now have a release date of January. The BR Standard 5 locos have had their release dates revert back to TBA.

My long awaited early BR 94xx, 9487, is now due in November, with no further price increase (yet!).  Given the year we're having, I don't think I can complain about that; after all, the Limbach is still running fine!  I've recently started taking an interest in salt wagons, and will be looking to see if the two that are to be released in August have correct wooden underframes.  I suspect not at this price level...

Or lack there of. Competitive price on the 45... Not so when Bachmann have the only model worth anything, ie class 40, class 55 and class 150. Watch the 55 drop with the other new one coming as they did with the 66. Yes its competition, but its also profit taking in some regards - which Bachmann are entitled to do and we are entitled to choose not to buy if we are so concerned about the price rise.
