Strange about the 2HAP - announced as being delivered this month, but not a word yet from any retailer (unless I have missed something).

Bachmann have updated the release dates. If a model doesn't have a date it won't be on this list.

 

Changes I've noticed are:

• All models which had a June date in the last update, have had the dates withdrawn

Do we know if the 150s will be fitted with the plux22 decoder and low floor motors, or will it be the same motor block in one of the cars. Given it’s lengthy gestation, I’m hoping it will be updated.

I haven't heard anything of retooling it, and if so, it would be Bachmann's third attempt already at the Class 150s in a fairly short period of time. But the price is certainly in line with the recent releases of Class 117 and 158 so you could well be right.

That’s what I was going on, it’s a decent model. But at its current price, looks rather outdated against the 158 and things like the realtrack 156. Then again it could be the passengers making it more expensive. But it looks expensive especially when kernow do a limited edition 150 for sub £200. Also the 3 year delay, was expected in 2018, had an email from a few shops saying it was near then it all went dark and now it keeps getting pushed further away

Having just remembered seeing the livery samples in the most recent Bachmann times, it says the tooling has been modified to reflect the mods to the toilets but no mention of drivetrain.

I see the 66s in at £149.....I thought they were discounting them to make them mid range between the hattons and Hornby products ? Or maybe they saw the problems with the hattons one and thought they’d pitch at the same price !

This is the reduced price from £170 but with retailer discount of 15% they will be around £127 and after 8 weeks they can reduce further, although I suspect they could sell well as some people have been put off by Hattons issues.

I would expect that the stuff with no price announced that they are not far enough into development to either be able to get a costing for them or want to commit to a price for something so far in the future.

They will know the cost of producing things like coaches very well, I would say your latter case is more to the point.

Indeed, but I thought the RRP would be in the £127 area.

At £127 post discount I'd buy a Hattons one for a loco I really wanted a model of (i.e. a specific loco where I'd be willing to potentially put the work in on any QC issues) whereas a loco to do a job I'd have the Bachmann. Example of this is I'll probably have a FL orange or DB red one at some point, but I have a load of Celeb GBRF Hattons ones.

I wouldn’t buy a Hattons unless I’m In LPL and they test run it in front of me. Bachmann at £127 , I’ll wait and see how quickly they go and wait for a clear out like they had with 66065 which was not that popular it seemed
