A heads up re parking. Last few years I've parked at 175 Elliot Street car park. It's £2.50 all day and about a 10 minute walk to the hall (although long enough to have got drowned in yesterdays weather).

This year I was staying at the Campanile hotel on Thursday night right next to the Hydro, so just a quick 5 minutes dash to the hall (although still got soaked!)

Hi Mike, missed you again. We were in the Pacific Quay. Parking was £4 for 24 hours, presumably cheaper for a shorter stay. Car park leads to the Bells Hill Bridge. About a three minute walk to Hall 3.

Still got wetter than if we had swam The Clyde. Gill in her attempt to get out of the rain ️ ran into the bar. Unfortunately it was an iron bar on the bridge .. ouch. Chipped tooth and cut lip, she still set about posting photos on the shop Facebook page.

Thoroughly enjoyed our mother/daughter trip today. It’s been the wettest Glasgow we have ever experienced. Thank you to the organisers and all the exhibitors!

Hello all, does anyone know the name of the stand where the baseboard backscene design company had set up, they had a diorama to demonstrate their style of construction, which seemed to be similar to L-girder, but with formers to allow for scenic applications. I recall that one of the slogans they had was 'We spend hundreds of pounds on locomotives and scenery, but pence on the backscene, discuss'. They also offered layout disposal services. Any ideas?

Took a pic of their stand last year for reference, as I'll be looking for baseboards at some point.

Parking cost me £11  and whilst this seems a lot, it was cheaper than taking the train.

But you still had to drive there, how much did that the cost of that add to the cost of parking?

Unlikely.

I arrived just before noon on Saturday & they had already gone by that time.

I had already been told that they had reserved some for each day. If so, they may have some left over from Sunday, but I doubt it.

A great show, as always, many thanks to all those involved.

For those arriving by train, it is about time the SEC/Glasgow City Council did something about the disgraceful state of the walkway from Exhibition Centre station; 'Glass' so filthy nothing can be seen through it, puddles throughout due to leaks, wind howling through, not to mention the exposed walks at the station side and at the SEC, the latter being plenty far enough to get soaked into today's weather, not exactly unusual in the West of Scotland. And why half the width is given over to cyclists, when I saw not a single one using it, either yesterday or today, is a mystery. Maybe something will be done in time for the international climate summit in November.

There was word of renovation three years ago: see the Council's press release:

https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/article/20819/Council-approves-agreement-with-SEC-to-support-redevelopment-of-bridge-to-Finnieston

and a press report:

https://www.scotsman.com/news-2-15012/transport/5-million-upgrade-for-hydro-footbridge-1-4381367

As you say it's past time for an upgrade. But filthy or not, it's better than no bridge at all, with the weather the way it was this weekend ...

What a gale on Friday morning  as I left the walkway I was blown into the centre !

It blew me right past the Wedding show and into the Railway exhibition.

Prob £5 fuel + £11 parking so works out slightly more expensive but more convenient as I don't live near my railway station.
