ISTR the last snowfall was when we took Blackmill for the second time in 2012.

ABout 4pm Saturday afternoon, the snow came, thawed slightly and then froze.

There was one traffic light controlled junction on the way back to the Premier Inn that took about 6 goes to get through as I couldn't get the empty van with zero traction on the rear wheels moving on the tiniest of slopes.....

It all completely disappeared on Sunday and driving back home up the M6 was a doddle as very little traffic had ventured out Sunday.

The show had been far busier than normal on the Saturday as many heeded the snow forecast, attended the show and then left before it started.

Two week forecast (although the show is just over that away) isn't too bad.

Must go and check the layout.....

Cheers,

Mick

Hi Mick

You are spot on it being 2012 as that was my last year as exhibition manager with Colin the assistant exhibition manager taking my place.

This is Colin’s last year as exhibition manager, I will explain the very positive changes when I see you at Stafford

I’m up at Kendal the week before our exhibition with my layout Camel Quay and then as a operator of Whiteacres at Stafford Exhibition which will be running BR steam and Green Diesels.

(Back running MI for the Hornby Exhibition)

Had my Spam Can pulling about 50 coal wagons on Whiteacres last night, .

It looked great

Thanks Mark

We try very hard to make it a exhibition you don’t want to miss

Members of your fellow BCB team and Stafford Finescale group members Chris Tooth and Andy Banks are demonstrating 7mm Plasticard structures.

Terry

Looking forward to it.  Come and talk to us about prototype buildings modelled from scratch, we are modelling in 7mm but happy to talk any scale. Come and see our latest projects and ones we've made earlier.

Snow shoes and thermals have been stood down...……...

Mick

You may need your thermals on Friday for setting up........

However plenty of complimentary hot drinks will be available, in the SRC tea bar

The adjacent cafe will be open for business from about 5:00pm on the Friday for hot meals or a bacon butties

The cafe and the chocolate man are always the highlights of Stafford for me Terry!

Are there any layouts this year?

Hope so Mike, I'm going on Sunday. the day will start as always with a breakfast in the little café opposite, and then it will be time for some bargain hunting.

Well, I'm there all week(end), to paraphrase the comedian, so I shall keep an eye out for you Andrew, probably hovering around the Shawplan stand!

Thanks for the reminder, I need some paint, see you there somewhere.

It will be good to put a face to the name and humour.
