Bo-Bo
Paul the extension of your cakebox layout has worked out great. The detail throughout this layout is very good and the video is always nice to watch. Thanks for sharing.
KNP
Just caught up with this and gone through from start to date and must say its a very clever and effective way of utilising a Cakebox Challenge model after its finished with. Did you plan this from the beginning? Lovely modelling.

Did you plan this from the beginning? Lovely modelling. Thank you Kevin. No not at all, it had been stored away until I had a suggestion from Mikkel on one of my other threads that I should try and extend it. A little bit more contemplating followed then I made a start, I knew I wanted to keep it as a micro though. Regards Paul.
009 micro modeller
This all looks brilliant. Can I ask how you operate the layout, given that the two tracks from off-scene converge on the scenic section?

The layout lives on a shelf in my living room and I mainly just have it as a scenic display. When I do want to shunt a few wagons around, the houses on the bridge lift out so I can get to the hidden sidings. Regards Paul. As the ones I'm using on my layout don't seem to look half as real as yours!

I used some wills wooden planks for the top of the doors. Regards Paul.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Howl03 Posted June 14, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 14, 2022 Hello All, it’s been a while since I posted anything on rmweb and 2 years since I updated this topic. A couple of weeks ago I got canal side out of storage and decided to make some changes. The track plan just wasn’t working that well so up it came. I removed the left hand point that was in the centre and replaced with two sets of straight track, their is now a right hand point under the bridge that connects them and a new fiddle yard that extends beyond the board. Then it was a case of redoing the wills sets and adding a bit of greenery. I have also made a hinged lid for the layout. The right hand section is still pretty much my original cake box scene from 2018. Regards Paul. 21 5 1
