HST Power Cars

Do Class 43 power cars have sandboxes? 

There is a box with chamfered ends located just behind the compressor and in front of the No2 fuel tank which seems to run the full width of the power car and I was wondering whether this was a sandbox. 

For clarity, it is coloured bright green on my 1/43rd scale 3D construction screen shot:

HSTs do not have sanding equipment

It is the bed plate collector and drain, although not to be left open to drain on the tracks. Next to it is the air compressor.
