To me it's by far the most enjoyable exhibition/gathering/social on the modelling calendar and I've enjoyed each one right back from the first held in the station building at Limpley Stoke in (I think) 1996. So here are a few photos from my collection in no particular order...... Camrail in 2009 and whilst I can't include all the layouts present I make no apology for including 3 shots of John Birkett-Smith's wonderful Ashburton. I've no notes but I believe this is Horselunges. Steve Cook's atmospheric diorama (is that Simon's Ruston?). And the man himself... More to follow..... The late John Spencer's signal box Above are my layout "Chipping Compton" and the late Bob Barlow's incredible Welsh Quayside. I missed out 1998 as I was just moving into the Coal Canal visitor centre, and the following year the show was at the visitor centre and using the scouts marquee(!) 2000 and 2001 were at Monkton Combe School, from 2002 we were at St Margarets Hall. The show only moved for 2013 as the hall was being refurbished and so was unavailable, which was when I had the brainwave that a show near the bookshop wouldn't need a bookstall, hence the move to Larkhall and the slight name change. So many people in those brilliant photographs, not to mention lots of fantastic layouts and models of course. I can't remember the three ladies, I think it was maybe some sort of genteel bric a brac Mafioso that came with St Margarets Hall(!) Jerry's second shot from 2012 features my Dad walking behind the seated group, which is kind of amusing..... Thank you very much to all contributors, when I fire up the old computer I'll add some more pictures myself. It's a kind of virtual lockdown Larkrail - Lockrail? Gawd.... I do recall that the first CamRails were held on the same weekend as Brian Clarke's Small Engines Rally in his garden in Bath, does anyone else remember those excellent events? Ta Hi Rob, it is with great sadness that we have taken the decision to cancel this years show. With the date of full opening up remaining uncertain and time marching steadily on we have decided that it would all be too much of a rush to try and put something on this summer. The good news though is that we will definitely be back next year, hopefully on our usual third weekend in July which in 2022 will be Saturday 16th. We are already discussing all sorts of exciting new ideas including two sites, jugglers, fire eaters, cake and all manner of wonderful attractions - including some trains!
