RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted January 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2020 (edited) Very odd list on my new content page As ideas what's caused this? Edit - on refreshing, seems to have cleared! Very odd... Edited January 13, 2020 by Ramblin Rich updated

RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2020 Had that a few times, there's mention of it on another thread. Usually seems to happen when a calendar entry gets revived or certain people make a blog post.
Nearholmer
Quiet few months while everyone was busy elsewhere?
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 14, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 14, 2020 Had the same thing happen again today when looking for a post I had made 7 hours earlier. Got back six hours, calendar entry then jumped nearly a whole day. Can be cured by refreshing the page on some occasions, but it will happen again you can be sure. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 15, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) Just had two more instances, first a random appearance of a blog post seven years ago then a jump back to 17 December 2019. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 16, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2020 More erratic behaviour this morning with blog entries between 4 and 7 years old popping up in the first few entries.
gordon s
Not sure if this helps or not. I noticed that Snitzl has returned to the forum and I've always admired his work in the past. I'm pleased we can see his excellent work again, but wondered if there was any connection (or just coincidence) with his blog/posts being reinstated from some years ago and the issues that occur from time to time with VNC. 1
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted January 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 16, 2020 I have just gone from 38 minutes to 7 years a refresh has sorted it for the time being.
Theakerr
At the start of un-read activity for about 3 pages the reload button was doing so many strange things I can't list them. Now as I hit the unread activity from about 3 hours ago it seem to be behaving normally.
royaloak
I know EXACTLY what it is, AY has added a random algorithm to the site just to wind people up. 1

Moderators AY Mod Posted January 17, 2020 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2020 It happens when an earlier blog/gallery/calendar entry is edited and re-posted so it's nothing to worry about. If it appears at the bottom of an Activity page such as View New Content it can cause subsequent posts to be from the earlier date (a software bug) and normally ceases to be a problem when you re-run whichever activity feed and it's not at the bottom of the page. 1

Yep, it seems that Snitzl's 'updates' are causing it. I couldn't load more activity to the new content list, so I just disabled "Blog entries" in the Content Type menu and now things are working again. I will re-activate blog entries when he's stopped performing. David
gordon s
I've tried delisting blog entries in both content and view new content and applied the changes, but when I click on VNC again, the blog entries appear and going back into the listings for content and VNC, blog entries are selected again..... Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted January 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2020 Similar here, Snitzl blogs randomly all over the place, ranging from 1 year to 7 years. Refreshing the screen has had no effect, this time.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm sure other people do it differently, but this is what I have done: Click on "Unread Content" (top right). This opens the "Unread Content" menu. Here you can tick or un-tick "Content Types" options (see below) When you have selected what you want click "Apply Changes". You will then see the options to "Save Changes". After you've saved you can bookmark the page so that you can always come back to the same new contents list in future. gordon s
I thought ‘apply changes’ would be their version of ‘save changes’ so that probably explains why the settings reverted back. Strange to have to do apply and save, but that’s software..... Edited January 17, 2020 by gordon s

Theakerr
Snitzl's Blog occupies a complete page and when I try to load new stuff I keep getting the same page over and over again with entries going back to Dec. Got round the problem by looking at latest entries first.
